Job Description

Our client, a global leader in the manufacturing space, is looking for a Solutions Architect with deep expertise in Windchill PLM to join their engineering systems team on a long-term contract. Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan this role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact digital transformation initiatives that enhance how products are brought to market across global teams.

In this role, you'll act as a consulting application engineer, helping to architect and implement next-generation PLM solutions that support critical business initiatives. You'll work in an agile environment, leading technical delivery and collaborating cross-functionally to improve design, launch, and lifecycle management of complex products.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement high-quality technical solutions using Windchill PLM to address complex business needs
  • Lead data migration efforts from legacy PLM systems into Windchill, including mapping, logic, and testing strategies
  • Define system requirements, identify cost-effective alternatives, and oversee solution deployment and support
  • Collaborate with global internal stakeholders to deliver and maintain enterprise-wide PLM capabilities
  • Stay current on new technologies and provide technical direction on enhancements, integrations, and best practices
  • Drive the development and improvement of PLM processes, workflows, and configurations
  • Lead Agile project initiatives from concept through delivery
  • Provide architectural guidance and promote integration of PLM systems with tools like SAP and Creo
  • Mentor team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • 5+ years of experience working with Windchill PLM and PLM business processes
  • Strong technical skills in Windchill modules including Workflow Design, Access Control, Lifecycle Definition, Change Management, and Vaulting
  • Experience with CAD data management (Creo) and related integrations
  • Knowledge of PLM/ERP integrations (preferably SAP ECC or S/4HANA)
  • Proficient in Java, JavaScript, SQL, and familiar with tools like MS Azure DevOps
  • Strong communicator with the ability to lead discussions across technical and business teams
  • Agile (SCRUM) development experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Deep experience with PTC's Integrated Change Management (ICM), BOM Transformation, Parts Classification, and Sustainability modules
  • Understanding of engineering, math, or accounting principles
  • Hands-on experience with integration between Windchill and ERP systems
  • Previous consulting or cross-functional team leadership roles
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure tools like Microsoft Azure

Contract positions

Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
