Job Description

Our manufacturing client in the Greater Grand Rapids, MI area is looking for a shap Value Steam Leader to join their team as a direct hire.

This position will involve:
  • Developing and executing comprehensive quality assurance plans, including testing protocols and inspection procedures.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of product quality, identifying deviations from established standards and initiating corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement effective quality control measures, ensuring adherence to company objectives.
  • Act as a liaison between the quality department and external stakeholders, addressing customer inquiries and concerns related to product quality.
  • Lead and mentor quality control personnel, providing guidance on best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with R&D and engineering teams to evaluate and validate new products, ensuring they meet quality specifications.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality, such as defect rates and customer satisfaction scores, and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes to identify areas for optimization and efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with regulatory affairs teams to ensure compliance with industry-specific quality standards and regulations.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of quality control processes and procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Proficient in quality control methodologies, including statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with internal teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the capacity to motivate and guide team members toward achieving quality objectives.
  • Adaptability in high-pressure situations, maintaining composure while making critical decisions.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and experience with relevant software applications.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific quality standards and regulations, such as ISO 9001 or industry-specific certifications.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control roles.
  • Prior experience in regulated industries, such as pharmaceuticals or medical devices, is a plus.
