Job Description
Our client, an automotive manufacturing company here in the Grand Rapids area, is actively looking for a VP of Operations to join their team!
This company offers a great production schedule of four 10 hour days (Mon-Thurs) with overtime on Fridays! Competitive pay and benefits are also offered.
The Vice President of Operations at an automotive manufacturing company is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility and ensuring the efficient and effective production of parts. The VP of Operations will work closely with the senior leadership team to develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities of the VP of Operations include:
- Leading the production team and setting goals and objectives for the department
- Developing and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
- Managing budgets and resources to ensure cost-effective operations
- Collaborating with other departments, such as engineering and supply chain, to ensure smooth and seamless production
- Developing and implementing quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality parts
- Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and other industry partners
- Managing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the production team
- Leading the continuous improvement efforts of the facility, including identifying and implementing best practices and lean manufacturing principles
- Mentoring and developing the skills of the production team
Job Requirements
Must have:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field + 15+years of automotive manufacturing experience - certain direct industry experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- 10+years of plant/operational management experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
