Job Description
Our client, a large and well-established manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Tool Maker to join their team on 3rd shift. This is a hands-on, precision-oriented role focused on the repair, manufacture, and maintenance of tools, dies, fixtures, and related components used in high-volume manufacturing. Ideal candidates bring strong mechanical aptitude, technical precision, and a commitment to maintaining high production standards during overnight operations. Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and repair components for dies, fixtures, and machinery to precise specifications
- Review and prepare work orders and related technical documentation
- Inspect incoming parts and materials; initiate rework if nonconformities are identified
- Modify and correct technical drawings as needed to support production needs
- Set up and calibrate tooling and devices according to operational standards
- Conduct testing and validation of tools and equipment for production use
- Dismantle, inspect, and repair malfunctioning tools and equipment
- Maintain tooling through scheduled preventive maintenance activities
- Coordinate with supervisors and team members on repairs and modifications
- Provide documentation and reporting for all repair and maintenance tasks
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in tool performance and reliability
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in tool making or precision machining
- Strong understanding of machining principles, mechanical assembly, and inspection methods
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders
- Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality control procedures
- Willingness to work 3rd shift on a consistent basis
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Completion of a technical/vocational program or apprenticeship in machining or tool and die
- Experience working in high-volume manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
- Comfortable working with CNC and manual machines
- Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting purposes

Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
