Job Description
Our client, a respected manufacturing company in the Grand Haven, MI area, is looking for an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join their 2nd shift team. This is a direct hire opportunity ideal for professionals who take pride in their work and enjoy a steady-paced, detail-oriented environment focused on quality builds and tool longevity. Whether you're maintaining standard production dies or supporting custom tooling and precision build projects, this role offers variety and hands-on involvement with advanced tooling processes—including in-house heat treating, high-speed carbide tooling, and CNC/EDM work for those who qualify.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, repair, and maintain metal stamping dies, including progressive and standard dies.
- Support and maintain fourslide dies and tooling with a focus on quality and fit.
- Build or replace heat set tooling as required by production demands.
- Replace and fabricate custom machine parts and components.
- Maintain high-speed carbide tooling, ensuring performance and longevity.
- Build precision gages and fixtures to support quality assurance and production needs.
- Perform in-house heat treating of tool steel using established processes.
- Operate CNC or EDM equipment if qualified, contributing to high-precision projects.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Tool & Die Maker in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong blueprint reading and tool design interpretation skills.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators).
- Solid understanding of die maintenance, fitting, grinding, and machining techniques.
- Ability to work independently on tool repair, troubleshooting, and build projects.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and standard shop procedures.
Preferred Skills & Credentials:
- Journeyman Tool & Die Maker Card (preferred but not required).
- Experience with fourslide tooling and high-speed carbide tooling.
- Exposure to in-house heat treating processes and tool steel handling.
- CNC or EDM experience is a plus for those interested in advanced tooling support.
- Comfortable in a collaborative, slower-paced environment that prioritizes precision over urgency.
Shift Information:
- 2nd Shift | Monday–Friday
Some flexibility may be required depending on project or production needs.

Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
