Tire Technician

Position: Tire Technician 

Location: Birmingham, AL

Hourly Pay: Up to $27/hour (depending on experience)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tire Technician to join our team in Birmingham, AL. As a Tire Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing tires on heavy trucks, tractors, and trailers. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with heavy vehicles and possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities:

• Perform tire installations, replacements, rotations, and repairs on heavy trucks, tractors, and trailers.
• Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation, and recommend necessary maintenance or replacements.
• Mount and dismount tires using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Ensure accurate tire balancing and alignment to maximize vehicle performance.
• Maintain proper tire documentation and records.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with the Shop Foreman/Terminal Manager to prioritize and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding quality standards and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the tire service area.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Tire Technician, specifically with heavy trucks, tractors, and trailers, is required.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
• Proficient in tire installation, repair, and maintenance techniques.
• Strong knowledge of tire balancing, alignment, and rotation procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately document work performed.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch break.
• Willingness to handle after-hours calls and occasional weekend road calls, compensated at a rate of $40.00 per hour with a 2-hour minimum for each call serviced outside regular working hours.
