Tableau / BI Dashboard Developer
Job Description
Hybrid role with requirement for candidates to be located within 30 miles of Irvine CA. 2-3 days weekly onsite.
Our client, a Global Medical Device Manufacturer, has an immediate opening for a Tableau / BI Developer on a 6-month contract. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Tableau development, data modeling, SQL, and BI best practices, along with the ability to translate business requirements into clear, actionable visualizations.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and reports to support business intelligence initiatives.
- Translate business requirements and data needs into meaningful visualizations and reporting solutions.
- Build and optimize data models, calculated fields, and Tableau data sources to ensure efficient reporting performance.
- Connect Tableau dashboards to multiple data sources including SQL databases, data warehouses, APIs, and cloud platforms.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and data engineering teams to gather requirements and validate dashboard outputs.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across BI dashboards and reporting tools.
- Optimize dashboards for performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Maintain documentation for dashboards, data sources, and BI processes.
- Implement best practices for data visualization, storytelling, and dashboard usability.
- Support ongoing report enhancements, troubleshooting, and user training for business teams.
Job Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
- 3-7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence or data visualization development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Tableau
- Advanced SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Experience working with data warehouses, relational databases, and ETL processes.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, KPIs, and reporting frameworks.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience building complex dashboards, calculated fields, and parameters in Tableau.
