Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (DoD Contracting) - Elevate Your Career!
Our client, a prominent player in both the commercial and defense military sectors, is actively seeking a seasoned Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team. Based in Sarasota, Florida, this veteran-owned business is renowned for its dedication to excellence and integrity in providing a broad spectrum of equipment, ammunition, and firearms solutions. They are committed to a work culture that mirrors these core values and are on the lookout for talented professionals to support the M1128 base bleed propellant grain assembly program, in collaboration with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD) in Indian Head, MD.
About the Role:
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and integrity of critical defense products. Working closely with QA engineering counterparts at NSWC IHD, you'll be integral to a functional Integrated Project Team (IPT), focusing on inspecting and testing products to ensure they meet stringent specifications and deliverables.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field.
- 6-8 years of experience in Ammunition and Explosives (A&E) programs with a thorough understanding of ISO 9000 quality standards.
- Proven ability to multitask with unwavering attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent time management.
- Knowledge of DoD quality processes with formal LEAN training (Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, FMEA; Black Belt certification is a plus).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to undertake domestic travel for supplier audits and inspections.
- ISO 9001:2015 training is preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Comfortable spending long hours sitting and using office equipment.
- Ability to move from sitting to standing positions effortlessly.
- Occasional travel to suppliers and customer facilities, including the Indian Head Naval base.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Secret Security clearance.
