Sr. Materials Manager
Responsible for the overall management of the Production Control and Purchasing departments including production scheduling, inventory, purchasing and all logistics in support of shipping and receiving. Also responsible to evaluate and make any required changes to internal production control and/or purchasing procedures. Leads and directs the work of assigned associates toward both departmental and company objectives and targets.
Maintaining company warehouse and shipping and receiving
Approves the ordering of all needed components and raw materials used in the production process
Maintains accurate document control process including archive, change point records and retention records in compliance with both TS and customer requirements.
Prepares GO meeting presentation/ calculates recommended staffing levels based on machine OEE, cycle time and customer demands.
Negotiates with vendors for good and services, negotiating the best possible price and service guarantee.
Establishes purchasing policies and ensure compliance.
Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate.
Examines bids and makes awards.
Establishes account/credit and terms.
Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors cost during the time period.
Ensures Investment Budget rules are followed and keeps track of all DAD s to ensure adherence to policy.
Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers.
Verifies accuracy of production schedules as prepared by production planners
Maintains compliance with all aspects of J-SOX, MQCD, MIOSHA and other local, state and federal laws and regulations
Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
Ensure all shipping and receiving safety regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and maintained at all times
Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and prepares weekly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) progress reports
Represents the department on cross-functional teams
Bachelors degree required
6+ years of experience required, preferably within the Automotive industry
Prior supervisory experienced required
Knowledge and use of SAP with the ability to take SAP to the next level
The ability to understand the financial impact business decisions make to the organization
