Sr. Manufacturing Facilities Engineer
Job Description
Our client, a Global Leader in the Medical Device Industry has an immediate opening for an Sr. Manufacturing Facilities Engineer for a 36 month + Contract to Hire opportunity. The Senior Facilities Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in utility systems and infrastructure projects. This includes the review and interpretation of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) drawings, vendor/OEM plans, drafting and executing validation protocols for facilities equipment, and overseeing construction and equipment installation activities. The role focuses on ensuring large-scale utility and infrastructure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with site goals and regulatory requirements.
Position Description (Principle Duties and Responsibilities)
- Leading technical reviews of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and OEM/vendor system designs.
- Developing a deep understanding of site utilities, infrastructure systems, and constraints to optimize project execution.
- Drafting, gaining approval for, and executing validation protocols for facilities equipment and startup processes.
- Creating and updating technical documentation including URS (User Requirement Specifications), SOPs, maintenance procedures, and Lockout/Tagout protocols.
- Supporting project managers by overseeing vendor activities during rigging, utility upgrades, crane operations, and infrastructure construction.
- Conducting safety walkthroughs and vendor briefings, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory safety standards.
- Leading troubleshooting and resolution of urgent infrastructure issues related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other utilities.
- Assisting in negotiating service agreements and vendor contracts to ensure scope, quality, and cost alignment.
- Partnering with cross-functional teams (operations, quality, engineering) to align infrastructure projects with broader site goals.
- Ensuring documentation of project milestones, validations, contracts, and compliance records is maintained accurately.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.
- Previous experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in facilities engineering, utilities, or infrastructure project management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of MEP systems, equipment validation procedures, and facility safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions with minimal supervision.
- Strong documentation and process ownership mindset.
- Effective communicator and collaborator across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Safety-focused professional with experience in regulated environments.
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
