Our client, a Global Leader in the Consumer Appliance Industry has an immediate opening for a Sr. Lab/Test Technician for a 12 Month + Contract. The technician will gather knowledge through test results and apply that information to analyze problems for root cause. This role will be working with the product development engineering teams to provide fixture development, testing, analysis, and reporting of results to support project goals. The technician will follow existing lab procedures and write new ones where needed. They will develop a strong understanding of appliance operations and development. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is desired.

Perform test procedures and/or maintain tested products and components with minimal supervision
Build and assemble products, sub-assemblies, and components
Instrument laundry products for data acquisition
Record and compile data, draft preliminary reports and verbally communicate results
Troubleshoot washers and dryers and repair malfunctioning units
Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities; support 5S and Lean activities
Construct basic test fixtures as required
Handle multiple projects concurrently
Provide technical direction in problem solving through critical thinking
Improve and expand your technical skills
Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) may be required for some projects
Use of specialized software and data analysis techniques may require training that will be provided


2-Year Associates, Technology Degree, Technical certificate, or 3+ years experience preferably in a lab setting.
Basic knowledge of lab procedures
Basic knowledge of technologies in mechanical, chemical, electrical, etc. Areas
Ability to use basic lab equipment
In-depth computerized equipment skills and record keeping systems.
Ability to move appliances using appliance cart (assistance from other person is acceptable).
Frequently be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance
Proficient in MS Office Suite; Google Tools preferred
Critical thought is a must. Effective communicator/Can work with a team.
Hands-on aptitude (especially in the mechanical and electrical systems sector)
Outstanding people skills, with the specific ability to interact as a team player
Strong verbal and written communication skills
A good attitude with the ability to multi-task
Programming/Software proficiency (Microsoft Office, Labview, C++, MATLAB, etc. Would be a bonus)
Lab software tools in a lab setting a plus
