Our client, a global manufacturing company here in Grand Rapids is looking for a Sr Global Cost Analyst to join their growing team. This position will report up through senior leadership and have lots of opportunity for upward advancement!



Position will involve:



  • Long-term will support development of processes and reporting to ensure that the correct global standard costs are transferred to projects both within regions and intra-company.

  • Assist in implementing best practices for standard cost maintenance across plants

  • Assist in developing variance analysis between global standard costs on projects and factory. Standard costs working with Product Management and Solutions Development organizations. Support planning, executing, and auditing the annual factory standard cost update for global operations.

  • Provide support to R&D Commercialization to help set up and maintain part reference models.

  • Support global cost book annual (manufactured) cost rollup performing audits of product cost and comparisons between internal factory sites. Work with Procurement and R&D to validate cost of new products through the commercialization process.

  • Develop metrics and statistics to look at trends of cost over time, cost differences between various plants, etc.

  • Support the verification and calculation of savings across procurement including verification of placement on Income Statement.

  • Complete savings audits reported by regions and provide guidance on any special circumstances that may arise in the region.

  • Serve as finance contact to liaison with other groups (solutions development, software tools, etc) to support ongoing updates of the global cost book.





Must have:

  • Bachelor' s degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting or Supply Chain Management

  • 6+ years of relevant cost reduction/cost analysis/cost accounting experience

  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience

  • Global cost book management

  • Ability to partner with multiple functions

  • Ability to develop standards and best practices to increase efficiencies within our product costing process

  • Variance analysis experience

  • Manufacturing / Engineering exposure or experience

  • Identify savings with Procurement
