Job Description

Our client, a manufacturing company in the Comstock Park area, is actively looking for a Senior Buyer to join their team!

As a Sr Buyer you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the uninterrupted flow of materials and supplies required for our manufacturing processes. You will work closely with suppliers, negotiate contracts, monitor inventory levels, and implement cost-effective purchasing strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced candidate with purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment and a bachelor's degree.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Procurement: Source and purchase materials, components, and supplies necessary for production in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, evaluate their performance, and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, assess demand forecasts, and implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyze pricing trends, conduct cost-benefit analysis, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure the quality and compliance of purchased materials with company standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier communications.
  • Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and emerging suppliers to identify potential opportunities and risks.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports and presentations on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier evaluations for management review.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience purchasing commodities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Great communication skills -  ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
