Job Description

We are seeking a Test Technician I (Software & IoT Testing) to support testing of embedded systems, IoT Cloud services, mobile applications, and connected electronic devices. This role involves executing test procedures, troubleshooting issues, and analyzing performance data under the guidance of engineering leadership.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate and verify software, firmware, and system-level functionality for innovative connected products.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute manual and automated software/IoT test procedures accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform testing on embedded systems, mobile apps, cloud APIs, and connected devices.
  • Collect, analyze, and document test data; prepare clear technical reports and recommendations.
  • Troubleshoot software, firmware, and hardware integration issues.
  • Assist with setup and operation of lab and test equipment.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on test results and observations.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and evaluate opportunities for test automation.
  • Maintain organization, accuracy, and safety in lab operations.

 

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Associate's degree (AAS) in Software Applications Development, Electronic Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Familiarity with embedded systems, IoT Cloud APIs, and mobile or web software testing.
    • Ability to read and interpret schematics, code, and communication protocols.
    • Experience using lab test tools (debuggers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, RF monitors, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
    • Basic troubleshooting of software-hardware interactions.
    • Strong documentation and data analysis skills.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of communication protocols (e.g., Wi-Fi, BLE, MQTT).
  • Soldering or board modification experience a plus.
  • Exposure to test automation, data logging, or cloud testing tools.
  • Curious mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies.
