Role Summary:
As the Software Development Leader, you will report directly to the Logistics Manager, playing a pivotal role in providing leadership to the Software Development group. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks, from mentoring and guiding the team to collaborating with various departments in defining and implementing custom programming solutions. If you are passionate about continuous improvement, possess exceptional organizational skills, and have a proven track record in software development, this role is tailored for you.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide mentorship and leadership for the Software Development group, ensuring continuous improvement and achievement of departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, develop, and implement custom programming solutions.
  • Support our clients users with inquiries related to applications.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering timely results.
  • Support manufacturing execution systems, data collection, reporting, administrative, and other applications.
  • Improve the accuracy of transactional information and track measurable improvements for reporting to the management team.
  • Work with Network Administrators to ensure a robust architecture that facilitates the growth of new applications.
  • Manage software suppliers and consultation support to ensure optimal performance of our clients systems.
  • Collaborate with Corporate IT and other Magna divisions to share best practices and brainstorm innovative solutions.
  • Ensure proper reporting of accidents and complete accident investigations within 24 hours.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field of study or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the software development life cycle.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with custom MES development and implementation, preferably within automotive-related paint and injection molding processes.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience with SQL database design and development, both on-premises and cloud-based (Azure preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience sequencing MES, Solidat preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with QAD ERP applications in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with bar code scanners and printers.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with HTML, ASP, ASP.NET, .NET, T-SQL, and C#.

    Preferences:
  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience in leading diverse and cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies in software development.
