Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Manager to join their dynamic team in Sarasota. This is an exciting opportunity to lead product development initiatives for direct insurance programs, ensuring comprehensive management of pricing, coverage, and compliance across multiple territories. The Senior Product Manager will collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies to drive growth, maintain profitability, and deliver innovative solutions within the personal and commercial property insurance space. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional passionate about building robust insurance products in catastrophe-prone regions and scaling them across diverse markets.
Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams to produce rate, rule, and form filings for assigned states and products on at least an annual basis.
- Oversee responses to Insurance Department inquiries and manage communication of product changes to internal teams.
- Spearhead new product development initiatives, including state and line of business expansions.
- Guide Systems, Sales, Customer Service, Underwriting, Claims, Risk Management, and Finance teams on product rules, rates, and forms.
- Define data reporting requirements to monitor program performance, collaborating with the Reporting team for accurate and ongoing analysis.
- Validate system programming pre- and post-launch to ensure consistency with product specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the department liaison for internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation, data, and insights.
- Mentor and assist in onboarding and technical training of department staff.
- Occasionally travel to support business initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support team and organizational goals.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of experience in product development, management, or a closely related insurance field, with a focus on catastrophe-prone markets.
- Strong skills in market intelligence gathering and strategic communication.
- Demonstrated success developing new insurance products and modifying existing offerings.
- In-depth experience with personal and commercial property lines.
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate within cross-functional teams.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experienced in working with policy administration systems, preferably Guidewire Policy Center.
- CPCU designation or equivalent required.
Preferences:
- Recent experience managing insurance products in states such as FL, TX, SC, AZ, NV, CA, HI, NC, or GA.
- Advanced skills in data creation, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience presenting to executive leadership groups.
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
