POSITION SUMMARY
The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of network security and software administration including servers, desktop systems, communications hardware/software, and office systems.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
The specific minimum competencies needed to perform the essential duties of the job include knowledge, skills, abilities, level of education, and experience necessary for successful performance. These competencies are generally demonstrated through specific service, education, or training.
Knowledge:
- Vulnerability Management software. (Tenable preferred)
- Virus and Malware defense systems, including mobile devices. (Sophos software experience preferred).
- Network design and understanding of protocols (SDWan, firewalls, switches, AP's, VPN).
- Management of email phishing, training, and testing software. (KnowBe4 software)
- Backup systems and disaster recovery planning.
- Level II and III Help Desk support. (Manage Engine Service Desk)
- Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously. (SmartSheet exp. preferred).
- Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.
- Results-orientated attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
- Degree required (Technology degree or technical certifications preferred).
- Software troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, group policies; experience using PowerShell preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Deployment, Microsoft 365 deployments.
Level of Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of professional IT experience that combines Network Security and Network Administration experience.
Work experience in a large enterprise environment.
Level of Education:
Bachelor's Degree in IT/Systems Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
CISSP preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
The core tasks, duties, and responsibilities that must be performed on the job.
- Network administration (including maintenance, backup, security management, user account management, internet access, and applications support).
- Supports server, network and desktop hardware, software, and applications.
- Performs network scans for security issues and identify network vulnerabilities.
- Performs security needs analysis.
- Rolls out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
- Resolve employee technical issues in a timely fashion.
- Assists in planning, implementing, and supporting the network and computing infrastructure plan.
- Installation and upgrade of firmware and other software.
- Cybersecurity Risk remediation and planning in accordance to NIST standards.
- Create and maintain network and security documentation.
- Establish and maintain network and security KPI's for senior leadership.
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
