Job Description
Senior Electrical Engineer (Electronics Hardware)
Person will lead the controls/design team in both development and design!
The focus of this role is primarily hardware/software design for high volume, low-cost electronic assemblies.
Responsibilities:
- Developing new control technologies and algorithms
- Identify resources and product deliverables, assigning those resources and deliverables, as well as coaching/mentoring resources.
- Understanding key product requirements.
- Designing hardware and software prototypes.
- Evaluating competing designs.
- Troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and seeking innovation.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements:
- 4-year Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Technical Degree.
- 10+ years' experience in designing hardware for electronics controls (HVAC or appliance applications would be a plus).
- 3+ years' direct leadership of design engineers in new product development.
- Proven project management experience on several development projects.
- Creation of product specifications, Statement of Work, from customer requirements.
- Project documentation including BOMs, test plans, instructions, and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Costing, project planning and the supervision of the product from conception to production.
- Design and testing to regulating agency standards such as UL, FCC, CE, CSA, etc.
- Experience in high volume, low-cost design.
- Design for Six Sigma and/or Design for Manufacturability
- Experience with communications such as RS-485, Ethernet and WiFi would be a plus
- Proficiency in writing embedded code for electronics controls utilizing C/C++ would be a plus.
- Research and selection of components, circuitry, and topologies.
- Direct schematic capture and printed circuit board layout process for electronic designs.
- Participate in FMEA and design reviews.
- Design of test fixtures for development and production testing of electronic controls
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
