Senior DevOps Engineer

: Identify, assess, and utilize open source, commercial, academic, and governmental software and software architectures to meet stakeholder DevOps needs.
: Implement DevOps internal/external processes, procedures and techniques that can be codified (infrastructure as code) to effectively support rapid, iterative, and collaborative experimentation (e.G. Slack, GitHub, GitLab, Travis-CI, Jira, Docker Hub), with containerized infrastructures (docker-compose, Docker Stack, OpenShift and RKE Kubernetes) on AWS and local raw iron hardware.
: Participate and lead discussions with SOF warfighters and other stakeholders to deconstruct requirements, propose solutions, and develop experimentation goals and timelines to reach their desired outcome.
: Lead diverse DevOps teams and subject matter experts to explore hypotheses, develop proofs-of-concept, and evaluate prototypes the majority of which can be found as projects under github.Com/sofwerx; This includes building for and supporting development with IBM Minsky PowerPC GPU hardware, android mobile devices, nVidia Jetson/Xavier and general CUDA GPU server hardware, raspberry-pi and other ARM embedded SOCs, SDR, JupyterHub and Jupyter Notebooks infrastructure for machine learning efforts, and an ever-changing ecosystem of industry vendor gear.
: Develop and leverage relationships across the Open Source community, industry, academia, labs and other non-traditional collaborators.
: Monitor and evaluate the progress of DevOps efforts and keep the CTO informed of timelines, progress, and resources required.
: Effectively communicate (both written and oral) with staff, customers, academia, industry partners, community volunteers, high ranking officials, and the public.
: Make timely decisions at the appropriate level and advise the CTO of those decisions or actions required at his/her level.
: Must be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.
: Experience: Demonstrated software contributions to Open Source DevOps projects and communities. Documented participation in rapid prototyping and experimentation.
: A degree is not required with 4 or more years of demonstrated industry experience
: Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
: Good planning and organizational skills.
: Must be willing and able to work a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
