Seeking an experienced Business Development Manager, reporting to the Global Director of Strategic Accounts. The management team prefers this position to sit in our corporate offices in Largo, Florida, however may consider strong candidates located in the sales area assigned.
The selected candidate for this role will support a growing Segment business by managing Customer accounts in the US, and to grow sales by providing support and solutions to existing accounts and new opportunities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Grow sales in the US in assigned Segments
Be the principal customer liaison for all projects in the Segment, ensuring that all agreed objectives are met with on-time delivery.
Provide technical and logistics support to all existing and new accounts within the Segment.
Identify and evaluate potential new accounts and make recommendations to Sales Management whether or not to engage actively as a commercial prospect.
Identify and attend key tradeshows and other related marketing events
Generate proposals as required, work with Segement management on all price negotiations, and identify the SOW for any NRE required funding.
Create customer scorecards for all key accounts with half year updates.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
BS in optics, physics, chemistry or engineering required, higher-level technical degree is preferred
5-10 years technical sales experience with demonstrated experience in OEM revenue growth
Spectroscopy, photonics or industrial/medical analyzer/analysis experience.
Experience with technology-driven firms, new product introductions and multiple-channel distribution.
Proven track record working as an independent salesperson.
Strong analytical skills
25-30% travel to assigned segments will be required.
