Program Manager - Automotive OEM Launches
 Our client in Newaygo MI is seeking a Program Manager with deep automotive experience to lead complex, cross-functional projects from launch through completion. This role is essential to driving high-stakes programs for OEM customers, ensuring all objectives-technical, financial, and operational-are met on time and with excellence.
This position sits at the heart of a fast-paced manufacturing environment, where innovation meets precision. You'll oversee the entire product lifecycle, aligning cross-functional teams and championing the successful execution of programs that directly impact customer satisfaction and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead full lifecycle program management from customer award through launch, ensuring milestones for cost, quality, timing, and delivery are met.
  • Act as the central point of contact for OEM customers, ensuring alignment on expectations, requirements, and timelines.
  • Direct cross-functional program teams, including Engineering, Sales, Product Development, Quality, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.
  • Provide both technical and financial leadership to ensure optimal use of resources and profitability of programs.
  • Facilitate milestone reviews, launch readiness assessments, and issue resolution across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate program progress, risks, and countermeasures clearly to leadership and customers.
  • Maintain documentation and tracking per internal program management processes (PMP, PDP, LRR, CN, CR, etc.).
  • Continuously seek opportunities for improvement in process, product, and program execution.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members as needed; may include direct supervision depending on program size.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the automotive industry, specifically with OEM program launches.
  • Proven success managing complex programs involving cross-functional teams and high revenue impact.
  • Strong project management, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Deep understanding of technical and financial metrics in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with automotive program tools, processes, and systems (e.g., PMP, PDP, APQP).
