Our client, a manufacturing company in the Muskegon area, is looking for a Production Supervisor to join their team.
This position is responsible for managing, planning, directing, organizing, and controlling department production operations and executing company s strategic plan and objectives for manufacturing excellence.
Work safely. Adhere to all company and regulatory EH&S policies and procedures and ensure all employees are working in this safe manner. Look for safety issues and offer safety suggestions.
Oversees department manufacturing operations, equipment repair and preventative maintenance, gives direction, resolves problems, and sets deadlines to assure that all company manufacturing objectives are met.
Supervises, directs, and evaluates the job performance of all production and maintenance personnel within their span of control.
Develops, coaches, and trains employees in technical work instructions, job procedures and other subjects in accordance with job training requirements.
Conducts interviews and makes recommendations for hire.
Monitors production schedules and production process to assure customer delivery dates are met.
Works closely with all other departments and assists in resolving customer issues and technical problems pertaining to product quality, delivery, and other technical concerns.
Studies and reviews manufacturing processes to optimize plant efficiency and continuous improvement of production methods, labor, machinery, tooling, and equipment.
Assists in developing and implementing manufacturing labor policies.
Assists in determining manufacturing manning and employment levels.
Directs the workforce to meet company labor objectives.
Assures company compliance with all established company and corporate policies, procedures, and governmental regulations pertaining to plant safety or environmental issues.
Analyzes plant operations, prepares reports, assists in developing metrics, and takes action as necessary to optimize through put and efficient plant production activities.
Reviews financial and budgetary reports, cost data, to assure plant operations meet company profitability and financial objectives.
Makes presentations, conducts meetings, and communicates with all levels of the corporation pertaining to manufacturing related activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Four-year degree preferred in a related field of study (e.G. Engineering, Material Science, Manufacturing Management) and/or equivalent management or technical experience.
