Production Supervisor Snapshot:
As a Manufacturing Supervisor in our fast-paced plant in Lakeland, FL, you will be tasked with leading your team to achieve plant and business objectives by creating a self-directed team environment. Your responsibilities will include planning, assigning and directing work, evaluating employee performance, conducting performance appraisals, and coaching/mentoring and developing your team members to encourage and support a high-performance work culture and develop future leaders internally. You will manage staffing levels through visual staffing plan tools, support continuous improvement and operator development, modify daily schedules according to needs and manage overtime levels and monitor controllable expenses to meet budget goals.
You will establish priorities within production schedules based on people, equipment and material supply and will improve manufacturing efficiencies using lean programs, such as Kaizen initiatives. You will participate in operational meetings, unit reviews, staffing reviews and other presentations to senior management. You will also actively participate in and ensure that team members understand their Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) responsibilities.
You will also be responsible for leading operations processes to ensure that all products meet/exceed established quality standards, you will drive compliance to FDA, ISO and company requirements and champion efforts to comply with all safety, quality and operational documentation requirements and practices.
A Bachelor s Degree or 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required for this role; Bachelor s degree preferred; previous supervisory experience is required.
2-5 years of experience in a related manufacturing environment or technical experience is preferred; educational or professional engineering (mechanical or chemical) background is highly preferred
Experience working in a highly regulated industry (Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Automotive, Aerospace) is preferred
Previous exposure to and knowledge of financial business metrics (e.G.: absorption, operating income, variable manufacturing cost etc.) is highly preferred
Ability to analyze and resolve non-routine product issues using independent judgment and ability to observe and correct minor inconsistencies related to production process, product appearance or documentation
Must be able to routinely make decisions which affect immediate operations and may have a company-wide effect
Demonstrated communication (written & verbal), presentation, partnership and influencing skills
Demonstrated analytical skills with problem solving and process improvement orientation; knowledge of Lean tools (i.E.: Six Sigma) and supervisory experience in a Lean manufacturing environment is preferred
