Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Product Engineer specializing in customized product adaptations. This role is instrumental in creating and modifying technical design drawings using CAD software to meet unique customer requirements while maintaining product integrity. Special products are derived from existing standard products, modified to accommodate specific customer needs. With a mix of new product development and enhancements to existing lines. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain product integrity through detailed hand calculations and quality checks.
  • Manage product maintenance, including processing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) as required.
  • Update ERP/MRP data to align with established standards for accurate product tracking.
  • Develop and translate SolidWorks models into comprehensive ERP setups for special projects.
  • Innovate and define methods of manufacture, supporting process instructions and cost assessments.
  • Regularly review and adjust SolidWorks models for accuracy and compliance with customer specifications.
  • Create and implement extensions and enhancements to existing product lines.
  • Oversee and coordinate the Engineering Change Process to streamline production adaptations.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the product team and production, facilitating clear communication and collaboration.

Job Requirements

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 - 7 years of experience. 
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong foundation in hand calculations for product integrity assessment.
  • Experience with CAD software, particularly in creating technical and design drawings.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and costing principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
