Manager, Procurement will be responsible for the oversight and management of purchasing goods and services in order to minimize costs while maximizing service levels and maintaining strong supplier relationships. The Manager, Procurement will also be responsible for negotiation of purchase price, contract terms, timing of assigned materials and requires working in close partnership with various departments including: operations, fleet, facilities, finance, and other departments.
Optimize and maintain strong supplier and subcontractor relationships.
Identify suppliers, create and issue RFI, RFQ, and RFP documents as necessary.
Lead RFP and contract negotiations through contract execution.
Stay informed on market conditions affecting costs and product availability.
Develop supplier performance metrics, oversee tracking, evaluate results, and work with suppliers to improve their performance.
Regularly communicate with suppliers concerning required products, volume, timing, costs and quality.
Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control programs.
Obtain price quotes in support of Estimating department.
Participate in both short and long-term strategy discussions concerning applicable commodities and services, and make appropriate recommendations based on current market conditions.
Actively seek new sources for existing materials, supplies and vendor services where doing so will improve overall quality, on time delivery, cost reductions, and reliability.
Communicate with other areas of business to coordinate efforts, look for opportunities to leverage buying power, and share best practices.
Develop and implement various process and policies.
Track and report key functional metrics.
Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services.
Perform all functions in accordance with Finance anbusiness practices and procedures.
Prepare various reports as needed.
Additional projects as assigned.
Bachelor s Degree or equivalent combination of intellectual instruction and work experience.
6+ years of experience in procurement or related field required.
Knowledge of commonly used purchasing and inventory concepts, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes and negotiating contracts and pricing, including terms and conditions.
Possess strong attention to detail and negotiating, analytical, and organization skills.
Strong project management and time management skills.
Exceptional written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
Self-motivated, quick learner, resourceful.
Travel required up to 10% of the time.
Must be able to pass company background check.
Must be able to pass substance abuse testing.
