Opportunity Overview:
Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Buyer - Indirect to oversee strategic sourcing and procurement of Corporate Services, MRO, and general indirect spend categories. Based in Rochester Hills, this position plays a vital role in supporting business operations by ensuring reliable supplier performance, driving cost savings, and maintaining compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.

Based in Rochester Hills, this position plays a vital role in supporting business operations by ensuring reliable supplier performance, driving cost savings, and maintaining compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.
This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional who brings deep category knowledge, supplier negotiation skills, and a collaborative mindset to influence outcomes across multiple departments including HR, IT, Facilities, and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories such as Corporate Services, MRO, IT, Facilities, and Professional Services.
- Monitor industry trends, service provider capabilities, and cost drivers to inform sourcing decisions and manage risk.
- Build and manage strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity, performance, and service-level expectations.
- Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, service terms, and SLAs, to achieve cost-effective, long-term agreements.
- Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives while ensuring quality and service standards are maintained.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as HR, IT, and Operations to understand service requirements and align procurement efforts.
- Support risk mitigation strategies, including dual sourcing and business continuity planning.
- Maintain detailed procurement records, dashboards, and supplier performance metrics.
- Provide regular updates and insights to leadership on sourcing strategies, supplier performance, and market outlooks.
- Ensure all procurement activities align with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and environmental goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in indirect procurement within an automotive manufacturing environment
- Strong expertise in contract negotiation, supplier management, and strategic sourcing.
- Solid understanding of indirect spend categories including but not limited to MRO, Corporate Services, IT, Packaging and Facilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, CPP/CPPM, or CIPS.
- Experience developing and managing SLA-driven contracts.
- Familiarity with supplier audit processes and corrective action plans.
- Exposure to sustainability practices and regulatory compliance in procurement.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
