Category Manager
Victoria, BC V8V 3K8 | Fully Remote
Job Description
- Own and execute end-to-end category strategies aligned to long-term business objectives
- Lead strategic sourcing events including RFPs, RFQs, supplier negotiations, and contract execution
- Design and implement preferred supplier programs to drive standardization, cost savings, and service improvements
- Analyze spend data and supply chain trends to identify cost reduction opportunities and optimize total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Partner with internal stakeholders to define requirements, influence purchasing decisions, and improve demand planning
- Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, operational, and legal teams to standardize products and enhance efficiency
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Negotiate and review NDAs, contracts, and supplier agreements
- Track KPIs, monitor category performance, and present actionable insights to leadership
- Drive procurement best practices, operational excellence, and disciplined spend management
- Lead and support process improvement and standardization initiatives across procurement activities
Job Requirements
- 3-7 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management
- Strong understanding of category management principles and multi-year strategy development
- Proven ability to translate data insights into measurable business outcomes
- Experience leading sourcing events and managing supplier negotiations and contracts
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret spend data and identify trends
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and execute from strategy through implementation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in cross-functional environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience working with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs)
- Background in healthcare, medical supplies, or regulated industries
- Experience driving large-scale process improvement or standardization initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
