Logistics Specialist
Job Description
Our client, a global leader in the manufacturing space, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Specialist to join their transportation team. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you'll play a critical part in ensuring shipments move efficiently and arrive on time. Working onsite at a modern Global Business Center, you'll collaborate with internal teams and external carriers to keep operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities
- Track and trace shipments across full-truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), parcel, and expedited modes
- Coordinate with dedicated fleet carriers, contracted carriers, and third-party brokers to ensure on-time delivery
- Dispatch, tender, and monitor shipments while proactively resolving transportation issues
- Communicate daily via phone and email with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Maintain accurate shipment records and provide status updates as needed
- Assist with claims review, reporting, and general logistics support activities
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery performance and operational efficiency
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Experience in transportation logistics, including dispatching, tendering, shipment tracing, or brokerage coordination
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact across teams and with external carriers
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, onsite environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Experience using a Transportation Management System (TMS)
- Knowledge of GPS carrier tracking tools (e.g., MacroPoint or similar)
- Exposure to Smartsheet for workflow or project tracking
- Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization/reporting tools
Work Environment
- Fully onsite role (5 days per week) in the Greater Grand Rapids, MI area
- Standard business hours within a collaborative, team-oriented setting
- High-visibility role supporting critical transportation operations

Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
