Job Description

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading and managing the organization's human resources functions while supporting the company's overall business objectives. This role partners closely with the President and leadership team to ensure effective talent management, employee engagement, compliance, and organizational development across the company.

The Director will oversee day-to-day HR operations while helping implement programs that support workforce planning, leadership development, safety, and company culture.


Human Resources Leadership

Lead and manage all HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and performance management

Partner with senior leadership to support workforce planning and organizational development initiatives

Implement HR strategies and programs that support the company's growth, culture, and employee engagement

Provide guidance and coaching to managers on HR policies, leadership development, and team effectiveness

Job Requirements

HR Operations & Talent Management

Oversee recruiting and hiring processes to attract and retain top talent

Manage onboarding and employee development programs

Lead performance management processes and support leadership development initiatives

Support succession planning and employee retention strategies


Compliance, Policy & Employee Relations

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

Maintain and update company HR policies and employee handbook

Address employee relations issues and provide guidance to leadership on conflict resolution and workplace matters

Promote a positive and productive workplace culture aligned with company values


Financial & Operational Management

Assist in developing and managing HR budgets and departmental forecasts

Monitor HR metrics and workforce trends to improve programs and processes

Identify opportunities for operational improvements within HR systems and processes


Health, Safety & Risk Management

Partner with EHS leadership to support workplace safety and environmental programs

Promote a culture of safety and compliance across the organization

Support risk management initiatives related to workforce and workplace policies


Special Projects & Organizational Development

Lead HR-related projects including policy implementation, HR system improvements, and change management initiatives

Support leadership with organizational structure planning and workforce alignment

Stay current on HR best practices, legislation, and industry trends

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)

8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience

Experience in a manufacturing, multi-location, or operational environment preferred

Strong working knowledge of employment law, compensation practices, and HR operations

Experience leading HR teams and supporting organizational growth

Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred
