Job Description

Our client-a multi-billion-dollar manufacturing leader based in the Grand Rapids area-is hiring a 2nd Shift Mold Repair Technician to support their continued expansion. As they scale operations across North America and globally, this is a prime opportunity to step into a high-impact, hands-on role with growth potential. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented technician with a strong mechanical foundation and experience in mold repair, who's looking for long-term career growth in a company that's making major moves in the industry.
Shift: 2nd (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot mold-related issues and execute precision repairs, both in and out of molding presses.
  • Preventive  maintenance on injection molds to ensure they're production-ready.
  • Repair and maintain hot runner systems, valve gates, and hydraulic components.
  • Perform welding as needed for mold repair and fabrication.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical blueprints accurately.
  • Provide technical feedback during the design and development of new molds.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Support other mold shop activities and collaborate with the production team.

Required Qualifications
  • 2+years of experience in plastic molding 
  • 2+ years of experience in mold repair or tooling maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems related to mold equipment.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed repair protocols.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Team-oriented with clear communication and collaboration skills.
