Job Description

Our Client, a leader in the automotive industry, is seeking a Materials Manager to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of materials planning, procurement, and inventory control for our client. Responsibilities and expectations for your team:
*          Manage all aspects of materials planning, procurement, and inventory control for the automotive supplier.
*          Develop and implement effective strategies for managing materials and optimizing inventory levels, including forecasting demand, monitoring supplier performance, and managing supplier contracts.
*          Ensure that materials are available to support production schedules, and that inventory levels are optimized to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costs.
*          Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that materials planning is aligned with production, sales, and customer service goals.
*          Develop and manage the department's budget and track key performance indicators related to materials management.
*          Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to materials management and inventory control.
*          Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
*          Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize materials management processes and drive cost savings.
*          Communicate regularly with senior management and other stakeholders regarding materials management performance and issues.

Job Requirements


Requirements: (We may flex and train the right candidate!  Please apply if you believe your ready for the next step.)
*          Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
*          At least 5-7 years of experience in materials management, preferably in the automotive industry.
*          Strong understanding of materials planning, procurement, and inventory control principles and practices.
*          Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
*          Excellent analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
*          Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships.
*          Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
*          Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
*          Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
*          Proficiency in using ERP systems and other materials management software tools.
