Job Description
Our client, an automotive manufacturer in the Holland area, is actively looking for a Materials Planner/Scheduler to join their team!
This position involves:
- Assist with the execution of consistent planning, scheduling, and resource management processes.
- Analyze schedule and material use to identify developing problem areas including slow-moving material, discontinued/obsolete material, and expedited material.
- Identify process, productivity, scheduling principles, and other improvements.
- Effectively utilize the Materials Resource Planning system and related data/tools. Manage inputs to MRP (forecast, planning orders, sales orders); Manage OEM customer forecasts; Manage large distributor customer forecasts.
- Assist with the timely production and distribution of periodic usage reporting as defined by management which includes usage, sales, trends, and inventory/product status. Inventory turn; Inventory levels (current and to-be-obsoleted parts); Delayed materials; Material delivery timelines.
- Analyze the amount of material required to complete production work orders and sales orders, applying knowledge of product manufacturing processes.
- Compile and maintain manual and/or computerized records, like material inventory, in-process production reports, and status location of materials.
- Work with Manufacturing & Materials Manager to coordinate direct material use based upon disposition status using FIFO (First-In-First-Out).
- Assist with periodic inventory cycle count and full material inventory count processes.
- Assist with completion of Engineering Change Notices (ECN). Control all aspects of inventory and obsolescence control for product launches, product changes, and/or discontinued product. Coordinate with Engineering to determine and manage ECN implementation dates. Complete ECN data entry related to material planning and purchasing.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- 2+years of inventory/materials planning or scheduling experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
