Job Description

Saw Operator/Material Handler

Job Summary:

  • The Saw Operator/Material Handler is responsible for inspecting, managing, and cutting raw materials to support our manufacturing facility. Must demonstrate ability to be a self-starter, independent thinker, work safely and efficiently while working multiple jobs under pressure and at a fast pace.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Set up and operate saws to cut, miter, and trim metal, wood, and plastic workpieces according to specifications.
  • Organizes and maintains stock shelves including proper labeling, correct paperwork, and returning materials to correct location.
  • Verify dimensions using measuring devices.
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move material.
  • Organize incoming work by obtaining work orders and staging material or components for upcoming jobs.
  • Responsible for removing burrs on materials that have been cut before moving to manufacturing operations. 
  • Stays in touch with the raw materials on hand and job priority board. 
  • Establishes strong communication and report with team leads.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Work experience and/or education in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail, organized, able to multi-task and set priorities.
  • Problem Solver, Basic Computer Skills

Contract positions

Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment. 

 

Permanent placed employees

Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
