Job Description
Our customer is looking for a Project Manager - New Product Development to help turn product ideas into successful launches. In this role, you'll bring structure, clarity, and momentum to cross-functional teams while keeping projects on track, risks visible, and stakeholders aligned.
What You'll Do
- Lead multiple new product development projects from concept through commercialization, managing schedules, milestones, critical paths, risks, dependencies, and deliverables
- Partner with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, timelines, ownership, and success measures
- Coordinate work across Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Marketing, Sales, and other key teams
- Keep projects moving by tracking progress, identifying risks early, resolving roadblocks, and holding teams accountable
- Facilitate productive NPD meetings that drive decisions, clarify next steps, and build momentum
- Follow established NPD processes while staying flexible and responsive as priorities or business needs change
How You'll Make an Impact
- Translate product strategy, market requirements, and business objectives into clear, executable project plans
- Provide timing insights, risk assessments, and cross-functional input to support confident product development decisions
- Align product goals with technical, manufacturing, and commercialization activities
- Partner with Marketing to ensure launch-related milestones are supported and on schedule
- Maintain visibility across the NPD portfolio, including priorities, dependencies, resource needs, timing, and potential business impacts
Communication and Visibility
- Serve as the central point of communication for assigned NPD projects
- Provide clear, timely updates to Product Management, cross-functional teams, and leadership
- Create and maintain dashboards, executive-level reports, meeting notes, decisions, action items, and accountability tracking
- Highlight project health, schedule variance, critical path status, risks, dependencies, decisions, and next actions
- Escalate issues with recommended solutions, recovery plans, and potential business impacts
Process Improvement and Tools
- Support the continued improvement of the NPD process to increase speed, consistency, accountability, and cross-functional execution
- Apply Stage-Gate, Agile, or hybrid project management practices appropriately within the NPD environment
- Serve as the Microsoft Planner subject matter expert for NPD workflows, schedules, dashboards, and reporting
- Develop and maintain NPD templates, tools, documentation, best practices, and governance standards
- Improve visibility into portfolio priorities, resource needs, timing conflicts, dependencies, risks, issue resolution, and status reporting
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of project management experience, including managing or supporting New Product Development initiatives in a cross-functional environment
- Strong experience managing project schedules, critical paths, milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Planner and Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Ability to build and maintain project plans, schedules, dashboards, reporting tools, templates, and documentation
