Manufacturing/Project Engineer
Job Description
Our client is seeking a Manufacturing/Project Engineer to drive equipment implementation, process enhancements, and facility improvements within their advanced manufacturing facility. This role will oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring smooth execution and collaboration across internal teams and external partners. If you have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, project management, and continuous improvement, this is an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact on operational efficiency and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation of new production equipment and enhancements to facility infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new machinery and upgrades into operations.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation within internal systems.
- Define project scopes, establish budgets, and manage timelines to ensure projects are completed efficiently.
- Partner with external vendors and contractors to support project execution and timely completion.
- Create and update detailed process documentation and work instructions for newly implemented equipment.
- Manage procurement activities, obtaining and evaluating multiple equipment quotes to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Handle multiple concurrent projects, balancing immediate needs with long-term process improvements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Conduct root cause analysis on quality concerns and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Use CAD software to assess and optimize equipment layout and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5-10 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, process engineering, or industrial engineering.
- At least 3 years of project management experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Minitab).
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Ability to track and analyze machine downtime and implement efficiency improvements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience conducting root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly when coordinating with international teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with equipment suppliers, particularly in securing competitive bids.
- Previous experience leading continuous improvement initiatives within a production environment.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ability to manage long-term projects while balancing day-to-day operational needs.

Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
