Our client is seeking an Industrial Engineer.

This is a direct-hire opportunity located in West MI.

Summary:
  • Analyze, recommend and implement process improvements by applying established operational standards using MTWM. Prepare method instructions to include tool identification, standard processing conditions, equipment specifications, operational sequences, material routings, standard time requirements, and labor efficiency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Using MTWM, establish best methods standards for all operations
  • Train supervisors, lead people , and line people on improved methods
  • Research and implement improved technology
  • Help develop documented procedures for all operations
  • Ensure that safety and ergonomic considerations are built into each operation
  • Develop and manage capital projects as assigned
  • Determine and document the best methods to perform various manufacturing processes
  • Examine, recommend, implement and document new or alternate manufacturing processes, equipment & tooling
  • Assist in development of new products and their manufacturing methods
  • Improve safety and productivity while reducing costs of manufacturing processes
  • Analyze production reports to determine reasons for variances
  • Observe and analyze operations, making recommendations to improve methods, tooling and simplify operations to reduce costs of manufacturing
  • Over-sight of environmental compliance and product compliance to governing standard.
  • All Department processes and procedures documented and the appropriate individual(s) trained and cross-trained as necessary- elimination of tribal wisdom
  • Knowledge of all ISO processes, procedures, flowcharts, and quality policy
  • Responsible for driving Self-Managed Performance (SMP) through self- motivation, initiative, and participation
  • Cross Training in other work centers as needed for the business
  • Responsible for identification, documentation, segregation, evaluation and disposition of non-conforming product, services and systems
  • All department processes and procedures documented and the appropriate individual(s) trained and cross-trained as necessary
  • Must be willing to travel as required for the needs of the business

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Skills:
  • BSME, BSIE, or related field plus 5 years related experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with MRPII or similar system a plus
  • Experience in developing work measurements, standards, and costing
  • Safety and Ergonomics experience
  • Demonstrated ability to make things perform better
  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities
  • Proficient Verbal and Written English Communication Skills
  • Lean/Quality background
  • Continuous Improvement initiatives 

Preferred:
Familiarity with MRPII

Technical Skills:
  • MSOffice - Intermediate proficiency
  • Engineering Drawing reading & interpretation
  • Numerical Reasoning & Ability
