Manufacturing Controls Engineer
Job Description
Our client, a Global Leader in the Medical Device Industry has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Controls Engineer for a 18-month + Contract. As a consultant in Manufacturing Engineering, you will provide technical and engineering support to implement a new high speed, automated medical device assembly line. This is a significant investment in our site, and critical to achieve our business goals. Experience with engineering and problem solving in a 'Digital Shop Floor' is highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Support engineering and project management in FAT, installation, and commissioning of the new assembly line.
- Complete process validations including VP, URS, IQ, OQ and PQ with associated documentation.
- Develop appropriate supporting documentation, SOP's and work instructions compliant with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Collaborate with product and manufacturing engineering, equipment vendors, maintenance technicians and operations leadership to troubleshoot process and equipment issues.
- Support line performance monitoring and lead practical problem solving (PPS) projects to remediate systemic issues.
Job Requirements
Requirements
- A.S., A.A.S., or certifications in engineering technology, automation, or related field required.
- 2 years of experience in PLC controls, equipment integration, data historian, or related field.
- Demonstrated interest and working with automation equipment and implementing machine connections.
- General familiarity with machine safety and LOTO.
Preferred qualifications:
- High speed automation experience.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication, collaborative teamwork, and problem solving.
- Experience in medical manufacturing environment.
Technical knowledge:
- Experience with PLC programming and commonly used PLCs
- Able to identify PLC tags, modify and create PLC sub-routines
- Proficiency with troubleshooting network connections for ethernet, profibus, and modbus
- Knowledge of electrical schematics and ability to create necessary drawing notes or modifications for input and output connections
- Skill with Microsoft office
- Familiar with the following PLCs
- AB
- CompactLogix
- RSLogix
- SLC-500
- Seimens
- S7-200
- S7-300
- Familiarity with database integration between PLC and historian server
- Experience with Ignition data historian.
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
