Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is looking for an Information Technology professional with 5 or more years' experience to join their team as a Manager of Network Build and Operations. This position is responsible for validating, implementing, and managing the monitoring and management platforms that support our clients' Managed Services Customers, Hosting, and Internal Infrastructure.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and maintain Monitoring Platforms for Backup, Servers, Storage, and Networking
- Review and research security and bug alerts from dozens of manufacturers
- Customize alerting platforms to reduce alert noise
- Create or escalate tickets to Service Delivery Team where necessary
- Work with Service Delivery team to maintain maintenance windows and change management
- Support customers via traditional break fix and managed support services
- Assist with the maintenance of managed services platforms
- Work closely with vendor technical resources and sales support to solve technical/support issues
- Where needed, interface with customers at a technical level to improve and accelerate sales cycles
- Actively listen and understand customer technical and business/organizational challenges
- Translate the value of a technical feature or solution into a valuable business benefit
- Achieve and maintain necessary certifications
- Continue professional development and knowledge of IT products and solutions
- Accurately account for time daily
- Must be willing to travel as needed inside and outside of assigned geography (Very Limited)
Job Requirements
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years' experience with proven technical acumen
- Bachelor's degree, or applicable industry certifications a plus
- Previous experience or a concentration in Network or Security Operations and Data Center Infrastructure is preferred.
DESIRED EXPERTISE
A successful candidate will have experience in some or all technologies outlined below. Implementation and basic to intermediate troubleshooting experience is required. Candidates will be evaluated on the diversity and mastery of the technologies.
- RMM Platforms such as Datto, Kaseya, Continuum, ConnectWise, and Auvik
- Monitoring Platforms: SCOM, vRealize, SolarWinds
- Logging and SIEM Platforms
- Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, SQL, and SCVMM
- vSphere and vCenter
- Storage technologies such as NetApp, EMC, Dell, HPE
- LAN/WAN/Firewall working knowledge. Advanced troubleshooting expertise considered a plus.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Microsoft office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio
- Industry certifications such as A+, Network+, Server+, Storage+, VSP, VTSP, VCP, CCNA, CCDA, CSE, MCSA, MCSE, etc.
- Exceptional communication skills
- Strong presentations skills on the phone and in person.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to translate technical terms into non-technical language
- Strong analytical/troubleshooting, organizational skills, and ability to resolve hardware and software issues
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
- Flexible with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Organized with the ability to maintain time management and expenses
