Job Description
Our client, a leading player in the manufacturing sector, is seeking skilled Plastics Maintenance Technicians to join their team on the 2nd shift. This role is ideal for mechanically-minded professionals with hands-on experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plastics manufacturing equipment-particularly injection molding systems. What You'll Be Doing:
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventive maintenance on injection molding machines and peripheral equipment such as compressors and dryers
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Conduct functional testing and fine-tune equipment for optimal performance
- Repair and maintain fundamental components of electrical and hydraulic systems
Diagnostics & Technical Support
- Read and interpret operational documentation, including timing charts and flow diagrams
- Use diagnostic tools such as voltmeters and temperature probes to assess equipment issues
- Guide production staff on safe and efficient equipment usage
- Help in the installation and setup of new machinery
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of parts, repairs, and inspections
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement goals
- Ensure spare parts inventory is stocked and organized
- Uphold safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment
What We're Looking For:
Technical Proficiency
- Strong skills in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and robotic issues
- Ability to read and interpret PLCs, schematics, and control systems
- Comfortable with calibration, lubrication, and preventive maintenance routines
- Proficient with hand tools and precision instruments like calipers and micrometers
Problem-Solving & Adaptability
- Demonstrated success in resolving downtime issues under pressure
- Ability to optimize machine performance through fine-tuning and adjustments
- Comfortable performing basic math and interpreting technical data
Collaboration & Safety
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors
- Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC and plumbing, is a plus
- Commitment to safety and maintaining a clean, organized workspace
Job Requirements
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical certifications or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, robotics, or related fields preferred
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance role, with a strong preference for injection molding experience
- Familiarity with robotic systems and auxiliary plastics equipment is a big plus
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, crouch, or kneel for extended periods
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds
- Requires fine motor skills and the ability to work with hand tools and diagnostic devices
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, and ability to focus

Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
