Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description
Our Client, a Public Utility that provides natural gas and electricity to the majority of Michigan's 10 million residents is seeking a talented and self-driven individual for needs serving in the role of Maintenance Supervisor.
The Supervisor of Maintenance is an integral part of the leadership team and is expected to be part a safe and efficient Maintenance Department. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of industrial facilities. They will supervise a team of maintenance technicians who perform tasks such as repairing equipment, maintaining building systems, and ensuring that production processes run smoothly. They will be expected to troubleshoot electrical and/or mechanical equipment and to resolve problems as they arise. The Maintenance Supervisor will ensure production equipment is properly maintained and repaired in a timely and efficient manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare reports on the performance of subordinates. Maintain time and production records
- Develop or revise maintenance procedures and schedules in consultation with production and engineering personnel
- Investigate complaints about machinery operation and discuss with operators any problems revealed. Perform or oversee the preventive maintenance of machines and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned or as may become necessary.
- Recommend measures to improve productivity, minimize downtime, and reduce waste.
- Schedule and assign work to subordinates, accounting for such factors as workload, skills of employees, and machine capabilities
- Train new or reassigned employees in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies
Job Requirements
Skills Required:
- Ability to manage and motivate subordinates
- Broad Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems.
- Ability to solve practical problems, to clearly communicate tasks and needs, and to train other personnel. Ability to analyze and to interpret data to make sound professional judgments and recommendations
- Able to deal with a diverse workforce
- Demonstrates the ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
- Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, and technical manuals
- Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of power plant maintenance, including a working knowledge of the operations & maintenance functions
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/electrical engineering field or related preferred
- [OR] Associate's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering field or related and 4+ years of experience supporting maintenance activities
- [OR] High School diploma and 6+ years of experience supporting maintenance activities
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
