Logistics Admin Assistant (Traffic Assistant)

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Job Type: Contract (5mo)

Hours: (Friday-Sunday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM)


Our client, a globally recognized food manufacturing organization, is seeking a Logistics Admin Assistant to support warehouse traffic coordination and outbound logistics operations within a fast-paced distribution environment. This role is ideal for someone with experience in warehouse operations, logistics coordination, shipping administration, or traffic support who thrives in a high-volume setting and enjoys keeping operations organized and moving efficiently. The Logistics Admin Assistant will play a key role in supporting shipment flow, maintaining shift continuity, and ensuring accurate outbound documentation and communication across warehouse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily warehouse traffic flow and outbound shipment coordination
    • Verify dock doors and trailer readiness to ensure efficient loading operations
    • Coordinate with loaders, jockeys, drivers, and warehouse personnel to maintain shipment flow
    • Assist with shift startup activities and communicate detailed shift pass-down information
    • Review load lineups and support seamless shift transitions
    • Print, distribute, verify, and sign Bills of Lading (BOLs)
    • Reconcile SAP reports, yard reports, and shipment documentation
    • Monitor staging bays and assign loads to warehouse loaders
    • Finalize shipment records and maintain accurate shipping history documentation
    • Maintain compliance with warehouse procedures, logistics SOPs, and operational standards
    • Support overall warehouse efficiency through strong communication and organizational skills

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, shipping coordination, or related administrative support
    • Experience working with warehouse processes, logistics procedures, or transportation operations
    • Familiarity with SAP, yard management systems, or shipping documentation processes
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within a corporate logistics or manufacturing environment
    • Associate's Degree or higher
    • Previous experience handling Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipment reconciliation, or traffic coordination
    • Ability to work effectively across multiple shifts and operational teams
    • Experience supporting warehouse supervisors or logistics leadership

Additional Details

  • 5+mo-month contract assignment with potential extension based on performance
    • Fully on-site position in Lancaster, PA
    • Flexibility required for both day and night shift coverage
    • Overtime expected
    • Drug screen and background check required
    • U.S. work authorization required

Job Requirements

Skills Required
  • 1 -2 years of previous experience as a Traffic Assistant, Traffic Coordinator, or in warehouse/logistics operations
  • Documentation & Systems: Knowledge of Bills of Lading (BOL) procedures, accurate record-keeping, and experience with SAP or similar ERP/WMS systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and clear communication across shifts.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Candidate must be flexible with their schedule, including some weekend work as needed.
