Job Description

An iMPact Business Group client who develops ERP Software and related systems for the Commercial Nursery industry is seeking Candidates for multiple Application Development positions.  These roles will join an existing Programming team and focus on working with their Customers to develop, support, and enhance business systems utilized by their Customers.

This is an on-site/hybrid work environment, as such Candidates need to reside in Western Michigan.  Based on personal preference this role can be 100% onsite, or use a 60/40 onsite/offsite work model.

This role is focused on complete application development with both Front End and Back End programming skills required.

The primary programming languages utilized are JavaScript and SQL.  

This role will be developing code on a 3rd party programming platform to produce the final business application.  This is not a Web Developer role, in the traditional sense, but is an Application Developer role where the business logic is coded using JavaScript.

Duties include:

* Design, develop, modify, deploy, and support applications of moderate to high degrees of complexity.
* Programming business applications primarily in JavaScript.
* Participate in developing end-user training materials and documenting system best practices for the applications they support.
* Participate in the re-design of a successful legacy system originally built in Progress moving the functionality to a web-based platform that primarily uses JavaScript, HTML, CSS and SQL.
* Participate in learning and also supporting the legacy Progress-based system, when needed.
* Working directly with Business Customers (Customer facing) on various programming projects (full SDLC).

Job Requirements

* Associate's / Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills
* Strong programming skills and aptitude, a passion for software development
* Problem-solving skills that encompass both the technical need balanced with the business need
* MS Windows, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL programming experience
* Full SDLC experience building business software

* Any experience with Progress ABL Development is a plus
* Any experience with systems using Progress as the backend Database is a plus

Contract positions

Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
