Job Description
Our client, a leading Tier 1 automotive manufacturer, is seeking an experienced IT professional to join their team. With a heritage stretching back over 150 years in the transportation industry, our client operates across 10 countries, proudly supporting a global team of nearly 7,000 dedicated employees. The IT Specialist will assist this Plant in IT matters, with a wide range of responsibilities from office and plant floor PC setup and support, to engagement in production-driven projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in IT matters, including the operation, set-up, and configuration of bar code scanners, handheld devices, and label printers.
- Document shop floor IT applications and installations, and provide support for office staff applications.
- Participate in and support Materials projects related to ERP and EDI compliance.
- Provide back-up for critical systems and manage yearly renewals of support contracts for hardware and software.
- Work with various teams to link applications to all necessary functions, including Materials, Manufacturing, Quality, Continual Improvement, Safety, Human Resources, Maintenance, and Finance.
Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in PC Hardware, MS Office, LAN Infrastructure, and VMware ESXi.
- Knowledge of server technologies, ERP, EDI systems, wireless barcoding programs, and SOX/CSOX IT policies.
- Understanding of server backup software and IT asset life cycle management.
Manufacturing Process Skills:
- Understanding of manufacturing concepts like FIFO, Quality Control, Forge and Machine Operations, Shop Floor Communications, and JIT.
- Experience collaborating with various departments within a manufacturing setting.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or higher in an IT field is preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with printers, copiers, and phone & voicemail systems is a plus.
- Superior communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams are necessary.
Preferences:
- Proactive, with the ability to anticipate potential IT issues.
- Superior customer service skills, with a focus on meeting the IT needs of end-users and stakeholders.
- Efficient task management and prioritization skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Physical capability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
