Job Description

Our client is a National Distributor, Manufacturer, and Retailer of grocery and related products.  They have Distribution operations throughout the US and Retail operations primarily in the Midwest.  They are also a leading Distributor of grocery products to U.S. Military commissaries.
 
This position is focused on migrating our current MS Azure Sentinel platform to Google Chronicle.
 
This is a 12-month contract position and with this Client, there is the potential that the role could become a permanent hire position.
 Location: Prefer Hybrid - 2 days onsite in Grand Rapids, MI but will consider 100% Remote.
 Equipment will be provided by our Client
 
Position Summary:
 
This role is responsible for managing the effective delivery of assigned projects by providing end-to-end guidance from solution design, requirement negotiation, issues escalation, resource allocation, and monitoring project activities throughout the entire project cycle. Responsible for project initiation, planning, development, execution, implementation, and communication about technology solutions. Ensure project goals are accomplished within a defined time and budget and in line with business objectives. Responsible for the project management of small to large/complex Security projects.  Leverage agile methodologies and tools (i.e. Jira), to deliver timely solutions for faster business value realization. 
 
Here is what you will do:  
  • Partner with functional business departments and sponsors to create, review, and gain approval of project scope, objectives, and plans and to determine the time, funding, and resource allocation on various project phases, staffing requirements, and procedures for accomplishment.   
  • Manage the planning, management, and completion of assigned projects; develop and define detailed work plans and project deliverables.   
  • Develop and maintain project timelines and milestones.   
  • Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained for each project phase and that team members understand expectations, timelines, and scope.   
  • Manage the details of the project including the plan, schedule, resources, task assignments, risk, scope, and budget; track progress and monitor project management activities to ensure projects are completed according to the determined schedule and budget.   
  • Report schedule, budget, and delivery details to department management.   
  • Advise or make recommendations to management of interim plans, potential issues, mitigating strategies, and implications of requested scope or resource changes.   
  • Interface with end users, technology specialists and senior project management team to understand and prioritize business goals and information needs; oversee the development of business processes, systems requirements, and design specifications.   
  • Manage financial aspects of projects including project budget, forecasting, and reporting actual and forecast expenditures.   
  • Facilitate and lead project meetings.   
  • Brief the project team on status reporting, risk identification, issue resolution, feedback, and input from the project planning team and/or business.   
  • Responsible for project tracking, reporting, issue management, and related escalations.   
  • Provide technical and analytical guidance to the project team.   
  • Coordinate and communicate cross-functionally with assigned project team members to facilitate deviation from original specifications and identify effective solutions.   
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best project management practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes.   
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.  
 

Job Requirements

Here is what you will need:   
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required) in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.  
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) license (Preferred)  
  • Five years of progressive broad-based information systems and business experience; prior project management experience and skills (planning and organizing) to include implementation projects or work process cycles from inception to completion.  
  • Experience with Azure Sentinel / Google Chronicle preferred 
  • Directly participated in a project/initiative that delivered, or was responsible for managing security- e.g., intrusion prevention systems (IPSs), web application firewalls (WAFs), endpoint protection, SIEM, and log management technology 
  • Directly participated in a project/initiative that delivered, or was responsible for managing vulnerability management tools, and methodologies to conduct threat-modeling exercises on new applications and services 
  • Be self-driven and understand complex technologies and customer (internal and external) use cases to identify insights to drive excellence in Security and Infrastructure  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact and influence associates and management at all levels.   
  • Strong organizational, project management, negotiation, and leadership skills.   
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.   
  • Ability to resolve issues with a detail-oriented approach.   
  • Ability to collaborate with other management teams (HR, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain) 
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and communicate technical designs, project issues, and status effectively.    Experience with digital transformations (Waterfall to Agile).
  • Strong working knowledge of project management lifecycle and processes.   
  • Ability to articulate technical information to a variety of audiences.   
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).   
  • May be required to travel up to 25%.
