Cisco Systems Engineer

Our client, a nationally recognized not-for-profit health system, is looking for a Systems Engineer for a 1-year contract role working on-site in Southfield, Michigan.

This position does NOT allow for C2C or Visa sponsorship. Client equipment will be provided.

This role will involve:

• Research, architecture, design, installation, integration, support, and optimization across a wide variety of technologies.
• Designing, implementing, and supporting high-performing, highly available systems.
• Participating in and often leading work on new project installations, system/infrastructure upgrades, and system/infrastructure performance management.
• Project leadership.
• Documenting and driving best practices.
• Solving complex problems.
• Working effectively and self-sufficiently within a diverse technology portfolio.
• Providing guidance and training to less experienced Systems Engineers.
• Coordinating work with team members to ensure successful delivery of all technical aspects of assigned projects.
• Taking ownership of operational support for assigned systems.
• Resolving implementation and support issues, and leading collaboration with support teams to troubleshoot and resolve escalated incidents.
• Creating relevant technical and support documentation.
• Communicating status and resolution plans for complex technology issues to Leadership.
• Maintaining knowledge of end-user devices and integration with equipment, networking concepts (such as TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, DHCP), Windows Server and Desktop platforms, Enterprise Directories, storage subsystems, and relational databases.

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
• 5 years of experience in systems engineering
• Cisco Advanced Networking
• Datacenter environment experience
• Full project lifecycle participation

• Exposure to the complete project development lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, support, and service level measurement)
