Senior Data Analyst
Full-Time | Orlando, FL
Salary up to $115K/yr W2. Benefits available Day 1
Our client is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to lead advanced reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives within the Information Technology department. This critical role will work closely with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and data engineering teams to deliver impactful analytical solutions that drive operational efficiency, strategic decision-making, and enterprise growth.
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will design scalable reporting frameworks, develop dashboards and reports, and perform advanced data analysis using tools like SQL Server, Power BI, and Python. You will also be a subject matter expert in data modeling and data governance while mentoring junior analysts and promoting best practices in analytics automation.
Responsibilities
Enterprise Reporting & Business Intelligence
  • Lead the development of executive dashboards and operational reporting solutions using Power BI and Power BI Paginated Reports.
  • Design scalable semantic models (star schema, dimensional modeling) that align with enterprise data standards.
  • Deliver regular and ad-hoc reports, ensuring accuracy, automation, and performance in financial, underwriting, claims, sales, and operational reporting.
Advanced Data Analysis
  • Use SQL Server and Python (pandas, NumPy) to perform complex data analysis.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within large datasets and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Create data validation and reconciliation processes to improve trust and reliability in enterprise reporting.
Data Modeling & Query Optimization
  • Write advanced T-SQL queries, views, and stored procedures with a focus on performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to design and enhance data models.
  • Improve report performance through indexing strategies and query tuning.
Automation & Process Improvement
  • Automate recurring reports and analytical workflows, replacing manual Excel-based processes with scalable BI solutions.
  • Implement quality checks and monitoring processes to minimize reporting risks.
Strategic Partnership
  • Act as a strategic advisor to department leaders and executives.
  • Participate in requirements gathering and roadmap discussions for analytics platform modernization.
  • Present findings and analyses clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Mentorship & Governance
  • Mentor junior analysts on SQL, data modeling, and visualization best practices.
  • Promote consistent data definitions, KPIs, and metadata usage across departments.
  • Contribute to documentation and data dictionary standards.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Contribute to project planning and task tracking.
  • Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and ensure their timely completion.

Job Requirements

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
Experience
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, query optimization).
  • Strong expertise in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report design, paginated reports).
  • Experience designing dimensional data models (fact/dimension tables, star schema).
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis (pandas, NumPy; familiarity with scikit-learn is a plus).
  • Experience with Azure-based data environments and modern data platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning concepts and predictive modeling methodologies is preferred.
  • Experience working in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry is preferred.
Skills
  • Strong understanding of data quality validation, reconciliation, and governance practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with ticketing systems used to assign and track work.
