Job Description
iMPact Business Group is assisting a very successful Manufacturing client hire a Network Administrator II. This role is focused on Network monitoring and Support in a large-scale distributed Network environment.
This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure through incident resolution, request fulfillment, and standard project work.
Please note: This role does require routine travel to various Corporate and Plant locations nationwide (US Domestic). Travel is either problem resolution focused or project focused and is up to 25% annually. Typical is 3-5 days per month. If you cannot travel or do not view travel as an opportunity, this role is NOT for you.
Summary:
This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure including - incident resolution, request fulfillment, and standard project work.
- Handles Tier 1 and Tier 2 network support issues
- Supports network expansions and hardware refreshes
- Manages circuits and collaborates with Network Engineers to maintain a reliable and secure network environment
- Requires -- strong troubleshooting skills, familiarity with enterprise networking technologies, and the ability to work independently while partnering with the Network Engineering team
- Experience with network protocols, Meraki, and Cisco switches
- Python scripting / Automation is considered a plus
- Travel is required at least once every six weeks.
LOCATION: This job requires working on-site 5 days a week in Grand Rapids, MI at the Corporate Data Center
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
3-6 years of experience in Networking or IT infrastructure support
Strong understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and routing fundamentals
Hands-on familiarity with Switches, APs, SD‑WAN, and monitoring tools
Experience working with Cisco, Meraki, and Versa platforms
Strong troubleshooting, analysis, and problem‑solving abilities
Familiarity with enterprise authentication technologies (TACACS, RADIUS, MAB, ISE)
Excellent communication, customer service, and prioritization skills
Ability to travel and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
3-6 years of experience in Networking or IT infrastructure support
