Our client, a global manufacturing company with a location here in Grand Rapids, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Help Desk Technician to join their dynamic team. This vital position involves providing comprehensive technical support and assistance to employees, ensuring the seamless operation of IT services across multiple locations. As a bridge between technology and users, you'll play a key role in troubleshooting issues, maintaining hardware and software, and enhancing the overall IT infrastructure. Responsibilities:
- Technical Support:
- Deliver hands-on technical assistance to employees, resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
- Assist with software installations, updates, and configurations.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware problems, coordinating repairs or replacements as needed.
- User Assistance:
- Provide on-site guidance and training on various software applications and technological tools.
- Address IT-related inquiries, offering clear instructions to resolve issues effectively.
- Systems Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on computers, printers, peripherals, and other IT equipment.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Keep accurate records of technical issues, resolutions, and maintain an equipment inventory.
- Prepare reports on recurring issues, system performance, and equipment status.
- Security and Compliance:
- Follow company policies and security protocols, ensuring data protection compliance.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity measures.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work with the IT team on IT projects, upgrades, and deployments.
- Communicate effectively with users, ensuring their needs are met and providing updates on resolutions or system changes.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Help Desk Technician or in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common business applications.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a flair for explaining technical details clearly.
