This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in both statutory and GAAP financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal audits within a managing general agency environment.

This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in both statutory and GAAP financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal audits within a managing general agency environment.
In this role, you'll work closely with senior finance staff, contributing to monthly reporting, budget analysis, and special projects that support business operations and compliance. If you're looking to grow in a dynamic, fast-paced financial environment and build a strong foundation in corporate accounting and financial analysis, this role could be a strong fit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP and statutory requirements.
- Compile quarterly and annual statutory financial statements in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conduct monthly budget-to-actual analysis, identifying variances and providing cost-saving insights.
- Generate reports required by regulatory agencies and assist with compliance documentation.
- Support internal audit efforts and assist with external audits under the direction of senior finance leadership.
- Ensure contract compliance with managing general agency partners.
- Participate in special projects and create ad hoc reports as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members, internal departments, and external stakeholders.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 0-2 years of accounting or finance experience (internships or co-op experience welcome).
- Solid understanding of GAAP and regulatory accounting principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive attitude with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Prior experience in insurance or financial services is a plus.
- Familiarity with statutory financial reporting frameworks.
- Exposure to financial statement preparation and audit processes.
- Experience with accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
