Equipment Maintenance Technician III
Delta Shift: Thursday-Saturday: 7p-730a
Department: Maintenance | Division: Operations
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Equipment Maintenance Technician III to take on a senior-level role within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for a seasoned maintenance professional who brings deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to equipment reliability and continuous improvement. You'll play a critical role in minimizing downtime, guiding maintenance activities, and ensuring production systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all Equipment Maintenance Technician II duties with advanced skill and leadership
- Lead by example in promoting and adhering to environmental health and safety policies and procedures
- Execute and oversee preventative maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment
- Diagnose complex equipment malfunctions using advanced testing tools and techniques
- Perform emergency and scheduled repairs on CNC machines and other production equipment
- Install, maintain, and repair complex machinery including lathes and specialized manufacturing systems
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
- Fabricate parts, perform precision alignments, and complete skilled mechanical fitting
- Maintain facility systems including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and structural components
- Track and manage maintenance schedules, ensuring timely completion of all tasks
- Support shop floor organization, coolant systems, scrap processes, and 6S initiatives
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in compliance with standards
- Provide leadership and direction in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts across safety, quality, and productivity metrics
- Construct and repair structural items such as crates, frames, and workstations
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on technical training preferred
- Advanced mechanical expertise in servicing pumps, motors, bearings, shafts, and spindles
- Strong experience maintaining CNC equipment, servo motors, and control wiring systems
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret complex schematics and technical documentation
- Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and laser instruments
- Experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and hazardous energy control
- Ability to operate forklifts, man lifts, and a wide range of tools and equipment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated systems
- Demonstrated leadership or team lead experience within maintenance teams
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, 6S, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments
- Proven ability to manage projects, troubleshoot effectively, and drive solutions
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and working in industrial environments
- Exposure to machinery, noise, chemicals, and manufacturing conditions
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and respond to emergency maintenance needs
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
Paid by and qualify for benefits in accordance with the policies of the hiring company.
